It's one of my big problems with capitalism. It's the proverbial stick dangling a carrot in front of your face leading you blindly along the governments predetermined path. It's funny that most people believe their idea are actually their own.
I wonder if you took someone who was confident in who the "think" they are, dropped them into another culture and kept them away from all human contact, how they would choose to dress? What car would they choose to drive, which kind of house to purchase? If they couldn't see what everyone else was doing thereby validating their choices how confident would they be in themselves then?
